Mission:

The Mission of AUCEST is to orient medical students and train national and regional physicians on different disciplines in the field of Endoscopic surgery to be able to practice independently and safely.

Vision :

The center aspires to be a center of excellence in training on Endoscopic surgery that it will be accredited by regional and international agencies.

Project Objectives:

         The purpose of this project is to:

·   Setup a center for Endoscopic surgery training in faculty of medicine, Assiut University.

·   Develop curricula and design training programs for the under, post graduate and surgeons in the field of Endoscopic surgery.

·   Orient and demonstrate concepts and principles of Endoscopy in medicine for undergraduates, house officers and residents.

·   Conduct training courses to specialists in the fields of :

-          General surgery.

-          End urology.

-          Orthopedics.

-          Gynecology.

-          Plastic surgery

·   Establish a library for Endoscopic surgery.

Beneficiaries:

• Medical Students.
• House officers .
• Specialists and residences in the universities hospital.
• Specialists and residences in MOH, health insurance private, army and police hospitals.
• Physicians from other countries.

Training Program:

Endoscopic surgical skills practicum using the following:

• Simulators.
• Animal organs.
• Live animal model in Assiut veterinary hospital.
• Live patient model in Assiut university hospital.
